Let $f$ and $g$ be transcendental entire functions.
It is known that many dynamical properties of $ f circ g $ are
very similar to the dynamical properties of $ g circ f $.
We show that this is not so with regards to its factors $f$ and $g$, if taken individually.
We also give an affirmative answer to a question of Baker
that permutable transcendental entire functions have the same Julia set.
